Things to Do

Winter Montana-Style

Montana Ski ImageNaturally, Montana is a great place for skiing, snowmobiling and all those other "traditional" winter sports. But why limit your fun? Mush a sled dog team. Explore our winter wonderland by snowcoach. Go for a spin on an ice skating rink. Build a snowman. Flop down on the ground and make a snow angel. Admire ice sculptures at a winter carnival. Cheer on contestants in ski-joring races. The point is, winter is a great time to visit Montana for a lot of reasons, and we have plenty of people who will be happy to host you.

So take a bit of time to browse through this section. Under "Fun on Ice," you'll find a whole range of winter activities you can enjoy on ice: ice fishing, skating, hockey, ice sailing, and others. Under "Fun on Snow," you can read about--you guessed it--things you can do on snow: dog sledding, skijoring, sleigh rides, etc. And under "More Fun," take a peak at some other winter activities you don't even have to go outside to enjoy.

The events calendar will give you up-to-date information on local happenings across the state-everything from seasonal celebrations to special holiday treats. The weather section includes current conditions across the state, as well as forecast information. Under the image gallery, treat yourself to some of Montana's beautiful winter scenery...at least until you can come here and see it in person. The lodging links can help you find a nice, cozy place to curl up when you're done playing for the day. And the safety section is filled with important guidance and tips. (After all, we want you to stay safe so you can come back and see us again.)
